Internationally,
peripheral computer equipment or test equipment can be indirectly
supplied with current by a connecting lead. Based on the international
connection system according to IEC 320 such connecting lead consists of
an integral PVC plug for non-heating apparatus on one end and an
integral PVC power outlet for non-heating apparatus on the other end.
Power outlet for non-heating apparatus IEC 320
The power outlet for non-heating apparatus according to IEC 320 is the worldwide mostly used apparatus connection according to standard C 13-14. It has been approved by almost all authorities for 65°C and 10 A. UL and CSA permit even 15 A.
Another often used version is the power outlet for heating apparatus according to IEC 320 C 15-16, which is suitable for a temperature of up to 120°C and 10 A.
The power outlet according to IEC 320 19-20 can be used for up to 65°C at 16 A/250 V (20 A in North America).
